Bringing MMMBop Back
They began as three long-haired teenagersIsaac, Taylor, and Zachadding the word MMMBop to our vocabulary and gaining a special place in the hearts of the prepuberty females worldwide in the late '90s. They quickly became an overnight success selling more than 10 million records and earning three Grammy nods from their mainstream debut album Middle of Nowhere.
A few haircuts later, they experienced mild success with four other albums, a Christmas CD, solo projectswhile maintaining their boy-to-man sex appeal that has no doubt worked in their favor over the years.
But band of brothers Hanson will be taking the stage again, this time doing something a little different. From April 26 through April 30 at New York City's Blender Theater, Hanson will be playing Five of Five Featuring Hansona five night gala showcasing each of their albums, one on each night. On the final night, they will be previewing their forthcoming album, which is to be released in May 2010.
"We could not think of a better way to span the old and the new music than in this live setting," Isaac Hanson commented in December.
"On the heels of a new record, we wanted to bring together a live music event that was really unique, something that allows us and our fans to share the music we've created over more than a decade like never before," Taylor adds.
The five-night gig is leading up to Hanson's big return to the stage with their performance at the Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, NJ on May 1.
The schedule for their upcoming shows are as follows:
Apr. 26: Middle of Nowhere
Apr. 27: This Time Around
Apr. 28: Underneath
Apr. 29: The Walk
Apr 20: New album
May 1: Bamboozle
